

Volunteer Job Descriptions:
Lesson Volunteers:
Lesson volunteers work directly with our NARHA certified instructors by assisting in and before the lessons. Main responsibilities include grooming and tacking the horses for lessons and leading or side-walking with a rider during the lesson.
Lesson Schedule:
Tues/Wed 1:00-5:15,
Thurs 9:00-12:00, 1:30-5:15
Fri 1:00-5:15
Sat 9:00-3:00
Qualifications:
1. Dependable: Committing to an 8 week session
2. Flexible: sometimes help is needed in areas other than lesson volunteering
3. Safety: Hearts follows all NARHA safety regulations. Volunteers are to be aware of the rules and help to enforce them.
4. Attitude: Volunteers need to be able to stay calm, patient, understanding and tactful as well as upbeat and supportive in the right situations.
5. Pro-active: Volunteers are encouraged to ask questions about therapeutic riding and our mission, take initiative and contribute in whatever ways possible...
Fundraising and Event Planning Team:
This important team works directly with our Executive Director to help plan and execute our special events such as the Hoe-Down.
Marketing:
The marketing team works directly with our Executive Director in three areas:
1. Media and public relations
2. Publications - newsletter, brochures, etc...
3. Photography
Facility/Grounds Maintenance:
The facility teams works directly with our Facility manger to keep the property clean and safe for the horses and riders. They take on projects such as painting signs, building stalls, keeping grass/weeds out of high traffic horse areas...just to name a few.
